<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bill receiving and paying device capable of making bills in a storage cassette and management information conformable to each other at a time point when the device has been recovered from a fault. <P>SOLUTION: A bill receiving and paying device includes: a discrimination unit which discriminates bills thrown from a service port for bill transactions with users; a serial number acquisition unit which acquires serial numbers of the bills; a control unit which controls conveyance of bills in the device; and a storage unit in which serial numbers of bills stored in storage cassettes and the storage sequence of the bills are stored as management information on a basis of one or a plurality of storage cassettes into which the bills in the device are stored. During an operation of recovery from a fault which has occurred in the device, the control unit conveys bills remaining on a conveyance path to the service port, re-discriminates the bills by the discrimination unit, compares serial numbers resulting from re-discrimination with serial numbers of the management information stored in the storage unit, and deletes the serial numbers from the management information in the case of both of them being identical to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
