FIELD: radio engineering, communication.SUBSTANCE: method of measuring the radar cross-section of large objects includes mounting an object on a rotary support; measuring the background; calibrating the fixed object when the object is completely covered with radar absorbent material; irradiating and determining the power of reflected signals when the object rotates around a vertical axis, wherein the object is broken into parts; measuring the power of the reflected signals from the parts while consecutively removing the radar absorbent material from said parts and determining the radar cross-section of the parts; obtaining an integral radar cross-section by comparing measurements taken in a standard state and with a masked part, wherein the relative contribution of each part of the object in the in integral radar cross-section in the given angular sector is determined in accordance with the expression:whereis the average radar cross-section of the object in a standard state and with a masked part, respectively. The radar absorbent material used is a material with an electromagnetic radiation reflection coefficient on a metal surface of not more than -20 dB in the operating frequency range and electromagnetic radiation polarisation.EFFECT: determining the radar cross-section of parts of an object for different aspects.2 cl |
