<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feeder capable of reliably cutting a cover tape and reliably supplying an electronic component. <P>SOLUTION: A feeder comprises: driving means for moving a supply tape which includes a carrier tape housing an electronic component and a cover tape covering the carrier tape to a takeout port from which the electronic component is taken out; a guiding mechanism which is provided with the takeout port and presses the supply tape to a tape chute in which the supply tape moves; cutting means for cutting the cover tape; and a guiding part for preventing the cut cover tape from coming above the takeout port.
