Provided are a work vehicle capable of performing charging, and a work vehicle charging control method. A power transmission device includes an input shaft, an output shaft, a gear mechanism, an energy generating motor, a first clutch, and a fixing means. An energy storage unit stores energy generated by the energy generating motor. The gear mechanism includes a planetary gear mechanism. The planetary gear mechanism includes a first rotational element, a second rotational element, and a third rotational element that are mutually different. The first clutch is disposed in a power transmission route between an engine and the first rotational element. The fixing means fixes or frees the second rotational element. The energy generating motor is connected to the third rotational element. A control unit fixes the second rotational element and causes the first clutch to become engaged by bringing the rotation speeds of two rotating shafts of the first clutch closer to each other, and stores the energy in the energy storage unit by causing the energy generating motor to be rotated with driving force of the engine. |
