PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stretchable paper yarn having stretchability, a woven or knitted fabric using the same and a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: A stretchable paper yarn (1) of the present invention is a twisted yarn including a core yarn (2), a plating yarn (5) and a press yarn (6). The core yarn (2) includes a stretchable yarn, which is highly shrinkable with hot water. The plating yarn (5) is a paper slit yarn. The press yarn (6) is at least one yarn selected from a non-stretchable yarn and a stretchable yarn which is highly shrinkable with hot water. A woven or knitted fabric including the stretchable paper yarn of the present invention has a stretchability of 5-50% as measured in accordance with the elongation rate method A of JIS L1096. In a method for manufacturing the woven or knitted fabric including the stretchable paper yarn of the present invention, a woven or nonwoven fabric including the stretchable paper yarn is formed, and then the fabric is dyed or subjected to hot water treatment at 90-110°C for 1-10 minutes or heat treatment having an effect equal to or higher than that of the hot water treatment. Thereby, a higher level of crimping of a latently crimpable yarn is developed, and the woven or knitted fabric having stretchability is obtained. |
