The invention relates to a rotationally symmetrical vehicle wheel rim for mounting a tire. Said wheel rim comprises: an axially central portion (20) comprising a disk; two side portions (31, 32), at least one of the side portions (and preferably both side portions) being separate from the axially central portion, each side portion being provided with a wheel rim seat for receiving a tire bead, the axially central portion and both side portions being made using a rigid matrix capable of being reinforced by a reinforcement including a plurality of reinforcement elements; and an intermediate portion (41, 42) forming the only mechanical link between the axially central portion and each side portion separate from the axially central portion. Said intermediate portion is made using a flexible matrix reinforced by a reinforcement. The Young's modulus for uniaxial extension of the flexible matrix is greater than or equal to 1 MPa and less than or equal to 100 MPa. The Young's modulus for uniaxial extension of the reinforcement elements is greater than or equal to 5 GPa. The Young's modulus for uniaxial extension of the rigid matrix is greater than or equal to 5 GPa. |
