PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for suppressing deformation of a connection portion between a battery container and a sealing member. ! SOLUTION: In a sealed battery, a battery case includes: an annular step 5b which is formed in an outer periphery of a liquid injection port 6 on a cover outer surface 5a and into which a sealing plug 7 is fitted; and an annular groove 5d which is formed outside of the annular step 5b on a cover inner surface 5c and surrounds the liquid injection port 6. When a step height of the annular step 5b is defined as (h), a distance of separating the annular step 5b and the annular groove 5d in a thickness direction of a case cover 5 is defined as d1 and a distance of separating the annular step 5b and the annular groove 5d in a spreading direction of the case cover 5 is defined as d2, these distances satisfy relations of d1≤h/2 and d2≤h/4.
