<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detection device and a position detection method, capable of preventing a pointer from erroneously detecting a position.SOLUTION: A position detection device 100 comprises: a transmission conductor group 12 consisting of a plurality of conductors arranged in a first direction; a reception conductor group 14 consisting of a plurality of conductors arranged in a second direction intersecting the first direction; a signal detection circuit 34, etc., for detecting a signal generated in the reception conductor group 14 on the basis of position indication by the pointer; a transmission conductor selection circuit 23 for supplying a spectrum diffusion code to the transmission conductor group 12; and a reception conductor selection circuit 31. The transmission conductor group 12 and the reception conductor group 14, respectively, are divided into at least a fist conductor group and a second conductor group adjacent to each other, and a conductor is selected so that a direction selecting each conductor forming a first conductor group and a direction selecting each conductor forming a second conductor group are different from each other.</p> |
