<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely secure combustion stability immediately after a combustion state is switched to forcible ignition combustion from compression ignition combustion due to an increase of an engine load, in a compression ignition type engine which switches between the compression ignition combustion and the forcible ignition combustion according to a load.SOLUTION: A control device of a compression ignition type engine comprises a controller (PCM 10) which performs compression ignition combustion when an operation state of an engine main body (engine 1) is in an operation region in which a load is not higher than a switching load, and performs forcible ignition combustion when the operation state is in a high-load operation region in which the load is higher than the switching load. When the operation state of the engine main body is in at least a region in which the load is low in a forcible ignition region, the controller introduces exhaust emission into the engine main body, and sets fuel injection timing after a compression stroke later stage. When the operation state is switched to the forcible ignition combustion from the compression ignition combustion due to the fact that an engine load exceeds the switching load, combustion promotion means (ozone generator 76) is temporarily operated.</p> |
