1,092,583. Transistor switching circuits; circuits employing bi-stable magnetic elements. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION. Feb. 2, 1966 [Feb. 8, 1965], No. 4542/66. Headings H3B and H3T. A gated amplifier, particularly for sensing the output from a magnetic core storage device 50, comprises a pair of amplifying transistors 31, 32 arranged in push-pull, the emitter collector paths being connected in parallel with those of gating transistors 35, 36 arranged so that when transistors 35, 36 are made conductive by a signal at 37 the amplifying transistors 31, 32 are made non-conductive. The amplifier 31, 32 is inhibited during writing cycles by a positive pulse at 37 and some of the cores are inhibited by an inhibiting circuit comprising transistor 51 and diode 52. Transistors 35, 36 are arranged to be non-saturating so as to improve switching times. |
