PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method that support wireless communications among devices using different application protocols in industrial control and automation systems.SOLUTION: A method is configured to: communicate at a dual home converter 134 with first devices 106, 108 and 110 in a first network 102 using a first protocol, and with second devices 116, 118, 120 and 122 in a second network 104 using a second protocol; receive at the dual home converter a first data message transmitted between the devices using a common protocol, and a second data message transmitted between the devices using a different protocol; transmit the first data message to a destination using the common protocol; convert the second data message into a new content compliant with other protocol; and transmit the new content to the destination through the first or second network. |
