<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and efficiently obtain high quality light calcium carbonate which is fine and uniform in particle size. <P>SOLUTION: Slaked lime particles are prepared which show, in the volume particle size distribution, a cumulative volume of particles of≤1.0μm in particle size of≤20% and a cumulative volume of particles of≤100μm in particle size of≥95%. The slaked lime particles are slurried and the resultant slaked lime slurry at 20-70°C is carbonated by blowing a carbon dioxide-containing gas thereinto to give light calcium carbonate. The light calcium carbonate thus obtained can be used as a filler for papers or a pigment for coated papers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
