The present invention relates to a device and a method for accelerating a motor. The device according to the present invention comprises: a rectification unit to convert commercial power to a direct current voltage to be outputted; a switching converter to switch the direct current voltage outputted by the rectification unit to be alternated and to drive a two-phase SRM; and a microprocessor to control the switching converter in initial acceleration of the two-phase SRM to change an initial set conduction angle to a conduction angle of a normal driving state, and to start advance angle control.
