1. A method of operating a communication system including a primary station communicating with at least one secondary station, the method comprising:
queuing at least one data unit in a secondary station buffer; estimating a time needed to deliver the at least one data unit with a predetermined probability of success, wherein said estimated time needed to deliver the at least one data unit with a predetermined probability of success is determined based on a past transmission history of data units from the secondary station, wherein said past transmission history includes a forgetting factor; and, generating a resource signal, when the estimated time exceeds a given threshold. |
