PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable media to be accumulated in neat order on an accumulation surface inclined against the horizontal plane.SOLUTION: In a rejection cassette 16, an accumulation surface 31S of an accumulation base 31 is inclined forward against the horizontal plane, and an accumulation guide 50 is attached to a front end of the accumulation base 31. The rejection cassette 16 advances a bank note discharged from a discharge unit 22 downward ahead on the accumulation surface 31S or accumulated bank notes BLS, causing the bank note to abut on the accumulation guide 50 to make it part of the accumulated bank notes BLS, and holds the accumulated bank notes BLS on the accumulation surface 31S while supporting the same with the accumulation guide 50. Therefore, when lowering the accumulation base 31 together with the accumulated bank notes BLS due to an increase in the weight of the accumulated bank notes BLS, the rejection cassette 16 can smoothly lower the accumulation base 31 while preventing the generation of a friction force, by not causing the accumulated bank notes BLS to slide against the accumulation guide 50 or a front side part 21A of a casing 21. |
