PHENALENONE DERIVATIVES COMPOUND AND A COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE SAME HAVING INHIBITION OF ENZYME ACTIVITY

The present invention relates to a method for culturing and isolating the marine derived fungus, Penicillium Herquei, a novel phenalenone derivative compound having enzyme (sortase A) inhibiting activity isolated from the culture, and an enzyme inhibiting composition containing the novel phenalenone derivative compound as an active ingredient. The phenalenone derivative compound extracted and isolated from a marine derived fungus according to the present invention shows strong inhibiting activity on sortase which is an enzyme existed on a surface of pathogenic gram-positive bacteria, and thus a composition comprising the same is usefully applied as a composition for treating diseases caused by infectious bacteria.
