PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device and a phase detection method in the same, capable of suppressing malfunctions.SOLUTION: An image formation device comprises: a motor 38; a rotation part 39 bi-directionally rotating in a normal rotation direction and a reverse rotation direction according to the drive of the motor 38; a detected part 50 rotating according to the drive of the motor 38; a sensor 54 that can detect the detected part 50; a rotation regulation part bi-directionally regulating the rotation of the rotation part 39 in the normal rotation direction and the reverse rotation direction; and a controller 55 controlling the drive of the motor 38. The detected part 50 is provided so as to correspond to a reference phase, a first operation phase, and a second operation phase. In a case where the rotation part 39 is made to be in a reference state, the controller 55 controls the drive of the motor 38 to rotate the rotation part 39 in one direction. When the rotation in one direction is regulated by the rotation regulation part, the controller 55 rotates the rotation part 39 in the other direction. After the sensor 54 detects an operation phase, the controller 55 stops the motor 38 at a timing when the reference phase is detected. |
