PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal ring and a seal device which can maintain tight sealing between a housing inner circumferential surface and the seal ring, even in such a load-free state that the fitting to a shaft groove and a housing is easy, sliding wear is little and hydraulic pressure is not generated.SOLUTION: A seal ring is fit into a shaft groove formed on an outer circumferential surface of a shaft relatively moved with respect to a housing and prevents oil leakage between the housing and the shaft. The seal ring is provided with a resin ring and a coil expander. The resin ring has a pressure reception lateral surface opposite to a lateral surface of the shaft groove, an inner circumferential surface opposite to a groove bottom of the shaft groove and an oblique surface which connects the pressure reception lateral surface and the inner circumferential surface and is inclined to the pressure reception lateral surface and the inner circumferential surface. The coil expander is provided between the oblique surface and the lateral surface while being separated from the groove bottom. |
