<p>This square electric wire for the motor winding of a vehicle/ship is equipped with a square conductor body and an insulating covering layer that covers the square conductor body. At least a portion of the insulating covering layer is a polyimide resin obtained by imidizing a composition containing a polyimide precursor obtained by means of the polycondensation of a diamine and an acid dianhydride; the diamine has the constituent components of at least a diamine component (A) indicated by chemical formula (1) and constituting 20-56 mol% inclusive of the total amount of the diamine, and a diamine component (B) indicated by chemical formula (2) and constituting 44-80 mol% inclusive of the total amount of the diamine; and the acid anhydride has the constituent components of at least an acid anhydride component (C) indicated by chemical formula (3) and constituting 60-100 mol% inclusive of the total amount of the acid anhydride, and an acid anhydride component (D) indicated by chemical formula (4) and constituting 0-40 mol% inclusive of the total amount of the acid anhydride.
