PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal box body which exhibits high reliability in terms of airtightness and excellent productivity, and provide a method of manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A metal box body 1 is structured by forming a bottom part 10 and side wall parts 11 and 12 raised from an outer circumference edge of the bottom part 10 from one metal plate. A boundary part of the bottom part 10 and the side wall parts 11 and 12 includes a folded boundary part 10b formed by folding both of them, and a welded boundary part 24 formed by welding both of them. In at least a part of the welded boundary part 24, an overlapped part 25 is formed in which at least one of the bottom part 10 and the side wall parts 11 and 12 is deformed to align end parts of both of them and overlapping both of them in a plane shape. An edge joint welded part 24 is formed by welding an end part of the overlapped part 25. |
