1. A combustion chamber of a gas turbine engine, wherein the combustion chamber has:
a steam reservoir located at the upstream end thereof, the steam reservoir being adapted to receive steam through a steam feed from a steam generator, and delivering the received steam into a combustion zone at the upstream end of the combustion chamber, a base plate which defines a boundary of a primary combustion zone contained within the combustion chamber, fuel being injected through a fuel feed, which is separate from the steam feed, into the primary combustion zone at the base plate, and a cowl which covers and is spaced from a side of the base plate facing away from the primary combustion zone;
one or more mounting pins which mount the combustion chamber at a radially outer side thereof to the as turbine engine, and which penetrate to the steam reservoir, the or each pin containing an internal flow passage which extends between an opening at an outer end of the pin to an opening which forms an inlet port to the steam reservoir, whereby the steam received by the steam reservoir is routed thereto through the flow passage; wherein:
the cowl extends upstream from and is attached to a wall of the combustion chamber; andthe steam reservoir is defined by a space between the cowl and the base plate. |
