PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for optimizing coverage by using dummy packet in broadcast multicast service system are provided to supply efficiency to a coverage optimization by distinguishing packet error due to deterioration of radio environment and an error due to empty packet in a broadcasting contents server. CONSTITUTION: A media control device converts a HDLC(High level Data Link Control) frame into a packet(S330). The media control device stores the packet in a queue(S340). The number of the saved packet is counted(S350). In case the number of the saved packet exceeds a predetermined number, the media control device creates dummy packets(S370). The media control device transmits the dummy packets into a base station(S380). |
