PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a light emitting device which easily controls a film thickness of a sealing material and prevents air bubbles from mixing into the sealing material, and to provide the light emitting device which inhibits color unevenness and achieves good luminous efficiency.SOLUTION: A high viscosity resin composition, which includes a resin and further includes a phosphor and a filler as needed, is dropped onto a light emitting element of a substrate where the light emitting element is mounted. A transparent member in which a recessed part having a substantially similar shape to a shape of the light emitting element is pressed so that the recessed part covers the light emitting element to which the resin composition has been dropped, and an entire upper surface of the light emitting element is covered by the resin composition. Then, the resin composition is hardened to form a sealing material. Metal bumps for joining the transparent member are formed on the substrate and the transparent member is partially joined to the substrate through the metal bumps. |
