The damper (1) has a piston rod (3) carrying out an axial displacement movement along with a piston (5) in a cylinder (7). The cylinder is filled with absorbing medium and displaced by absorbing valves (19, 21) along sliding movement. An acceleration-dependant absorbing device is provided with a spindle drive (23) that is actively located with the piston rod. The absorbing device is attached to a rotationable mass (25). The piston rod is connected with a kinetic thread portion (27) of the spindle drive on which the rotationable mass is axially supported on the cylinder.
