The present invention addresses the issues of increasing sugar content generated in hydrolysis using a cellulose-containing biomass enzyme, and reducing the amount of enzyme used in sugar liquid production. Provided is a composition used for decomposition of a cellulose-containing biomass, that includes a polypeptide having an action promoting the decomposition of a cellulose-containing biomass using a biomass decomposition enzyme.
