摘要 A method for improving stereoscopic image quality according to the present invention comprises the following steps of: applying a first level of a discrete wavelet transform to a left eye image and a right eye image, and decomposing each of the left eye image and the right eye image into frequency sub-band LL1 including coefficients of low frequency components, frequency sub-band LH1 including coefficients of horizontal high frequency components, frequency sub-band HL1 including coefficients of vertical high frequency components, and frequency sub-band HH1 including coefficients of diagonal high frequency components; performing wavelet zero padding for each of the left eye image and the right eye image on the frequency sub-band LH1, and substituting the coefficients of horizontal components with zero; applying a reverse discrete wavelet transform to each of the left eye image and the right eye image which have been processed by the wavelet zero padding, and generating a left eye transformed image and a right eye transformed image; and alternately arranging the left eye transformed image and the right eye transformed image in each horizontal pixel line, and synthesizing a three-dimensional image.
