PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic information terminal capable of inhibiting an undesired switching of display directions by reflecting the intention of a user.SOLUTION: An information terminal 10 (an electronic information terminal) includes: a display panel 11 having a rectangular display zone; an acceleration sensor 12 for detecting rotation angle information; and a central processing unit 14 for controlling switching of display directions of the display panel on the basis of a detection result of the acceleration sensor 12. Further, the central processing unit 14 executes no switching of display directions in a case where the rotation angle of the display panel 11 is smaller than a first threshold on the basis of the rotation angle information.
