<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a security method automatically according to a subnetwork to which a mobile node is connected. <P>SOLUTION: A communication network system has a plurality of mutually connected subnetworks, handles the mobile node 20 having a care-of address depending on the subnetwork currently connected and a home address that does not depend on the care-of address, and is equipped with security application management tables 24, 11 each for retaining the correspondence relationship between the subnetwork and the security method. In the communication network system, the method is automatically set based on the security application management tables 24, 11.
