The method involves determining a requested gear box turning rotational torque (32) of an independent target rotational torque of a gear box (10) for driving a vehicle. A difference rotational torque between the target rotational torque and a sum rotational torque of the drive unit is determined. The requested gear box rotational torque is verified based on the difference rotational torque.
