<p>The invention relates to a motor vehicle body shell comprising an inner side member (8) extending below each of the two sides of the passenger compartment of the body shell, said inner side member (8) being extended rearward by a front auxiliary longitudinal member (9) forming a bend with the inner side member (8). The rear part of the inner side member (8) is connected to the front part of the front auxiliary longitudinal member (9) by a connecting piece (10) made of sheet metal and comprising a lower face (10a) and an inner lateral face (10b). The invention is characterized in that the edge (11, 12) of the lower face (10a) of the connecting piece (10) comprises first and second flanges (13, 14) which are bent substantially perpendicularly to said face (10a) and which are applied against and secured respectively to: the inner lateral face (8a) of the rear part of the inner side member (8), and the inner lateral face (9a) of the front part of the front auxiliary longitudinal member (9). The edge (15) of the inner lateral face (10b) of the connecting piece (10) comprises a third bent flange (16) which is applied against and secured to the inner lateral face (9a) of the front part of the front auxiliary longitudinal member (9).</p> |
