The pressing apparatus has a thrust element (5) which is arranged opposite to a gear housing (6), to push the worm/screw pinion (1) supported in gear housing to a worm/screw gear (2). The thrust element is arranged to limit the movement of worm/screw pinion away from worm/screw gear during backlash. A thrust element is arranged in housing portion (6a) of gear housing. The axis of outer cylindrical surface (8) of thrust element is intersected with axis of inner cylindrical surface (11) of thrust element, at preset angle.
