PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor that has higher efficiency, secures reliability, and is made low-cost while reducing noise.SOLUTION: An electric motor includes a bearing 4 provided to a housing 2 and bearing a rotary shaft 3, an external fan 6 which rotates as the rotary shaft 3 rotates, and a magnetic speed reducer 7 which reduces and transmits the rotating speed of the rotary shaft 3 to the external fan 6. The speed reducer suppresses the external fan from rotating unnecessarily at a high speed, and fan noise is thereby reduced. Further, the magnetic speed reducer is employed to reduce loss, the bearing portion is protected to secure reliability, and the external fan is used in common to lower the cost. |
