PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC chip, an ATR response processing program and an ATR response method which allow, even in a mixed system of an old method and a new method, both an old terminal and a new terminal to perform efficient communication and further realize shortening of ATR response time according to the type of a terminal.SOLUTION: An IC chip, which has a plurality of application programs installed and selects and executes either one of the application programs in response to a command signal from a terminal, transmits cold ATR information to the terminal (S22) when receiving a cold reset signal from the terminal; stores a copy of replacement ATR information in a replacement ATR storage area (S34) when receiving a command signal for selecting an application program from the terminal; and transmits the copy of the replacement ATR information to the terminal (S24) if the copy of the replacement ATR information is stored in the replacement ATR storage area when receiving a warm reset signal from the terminal. |
