A method and a system of controlling a home wireless system wherein the home wireless system comprises a plurality of peripheral wireless nodes (14; 16; 19; 21; 23) and a first gateway (12) having wireless communication means for communicating with. The method includes installing at least one second gateway (12'; 32) in said home wireless system, broadcasting an identification message from a peripheral wireless node (14; 16; 19; 21; 23) searching for a controlling gateway in a link establishment process, and receiving in each of said first gateway (12) and said at least one second gateway (12') said identification message. Further steps are determining a delay in each of said gateways, sending after said delay from the gateway a request message, and completing the link establishment process by responding in said peripheral wireless node (14; 16; 19; 21; 23) to the request message received from the gateway responding after the shortest delay, said peripheral wireless node (14; 16; 19; 21; 23)then being bound to the gateway responding after the shortest delay.
