PURPOSE: An epoxy resin is provided to provide a cured material which has excellent heat resistance, low viscosity at a melting point, and self-extinguishing property and is easily handled by being crystallized at room temperature. CONSTITUTION: An epoxy resin includes a compound represented by chemical formula 2 and/or 3 where X is a functional group represented by chemical formula 2-a, 2-b, 2-c, 2-d, 2-e, or 2-f z is a functional group represented by chemical formula 3-a, 3-b, or 3-c; R0 is a C1-20 alkyl group or a C5-12 cycloalkyl group; R2-R12 are H or a C1-10 alkyl group; n is an integer from 0-50; m is an integer from 0-2; A is ether or ester; the content of a material of which n is 0 is 60 wt% or greater in the epoxy resin in chemical formula 2; and the content of a material of which n is 0 is 60 wt% or greater in the epoxy resin in chemical formula 2.
