RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM BATTERY

PURPOSE: A lithium secondary battery is provided to have an excellent room temperature lifetime property, low temperature lifetime property and high temperature maintenance characteristic. CONSTITUTION: A lithium secondary battery comprises a cathode with a compound density of 3.4-4.0 g/cc; an anode; and electrolyte containing a non-aqueous organic solvent including a compound represented by Chemical formula 1: CH3COO-R^1 at the amount of 10-50 volume% to the total amount of the non-aqueous organic solvent. In Chemical formula 1, R^1 is C1-C4 linear chain or branched chain alkyl. The non-aqueous organic solvent includes a carbonate-based solvent. The electrolyte has the viscosity of 2.90-4.45 cP and the conductivity of 10 mS/cm or more.
