PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head that prevents degradation or erasing of information having been recorded in adjacent track areas and enables high recording density, and further provide a disk device provided therewith.SOLUTION: A magnetic head comprises: a main magnetic pole 60; a write shield magnetic pole 66; recording coils; and a temperature control element section 72 provided at a leading side of the main magnetic pole 60. The temperature control element section 72 includes: first electrodes 76a and 76b disposed at both sides in a track width direction of a track of the main magnetic pole 60 in the vicinity of a flying surface at the leading side of the main magnetic pole 60; second electrodes 75a and 75b disposed on a track center of the main magnetic pole 60 in the vicinity of the flying surface at the leading side of the main magnetic pole 60; N type semiconductors 76a and 76b and P type semiconductors 77a and 77b connected to the first and second electrodes 76a, 76b, 75a and 75b; and a wiring section for causing current to sequentially flow through the second electrodes 75a and 75b, the N type semiconductors 76a and 76b, the first electrodes 76a and 76b, the P type semiconductors 77a and 77b and the second electrodes 75a and 75b. A heat absorption section and a heat radiation section are formed by the first electrodes 76a and 76b and the second electrodes 75a and 75b. |
