SURGICAL INSTRUMENT FOR BILATERAL SAGITTAL SPLIT RAMUS OSTEOTOMY

PURPOSE: A surgical instrument for bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy (BSSRO) is provided to let an operator to insert and rotate an insertion portion and a tip portion in a crack formed by a fracture of mandible for delivering rotating force accurately to the insertion portion and the tip portion, thereby accurately and easily performing sagittal split surgery. CONSTITUTION: A surgical instrument for BSSRO comprises a handle and a rod-shaped body. The body includes a proximal portion which is arranged on a first central axis line and coupled with the handle; a distal portion which is arranged on a second central axis line; a shank portion (128) which is extended from the proximal portion along the first central axis line; an extension portion (130) which is firstly bent from the end of the shank portion in a diameter direction of the first central axis line; and a support portion (134) which is secondly bent from the end of the extension portion to the first central axis line.
