<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a driver from feeling a sense of incompatibility because of a behavior of the driver's own vehicle in the case where a preceding vehicle that is a control target vehicle in tracking control is lost. <P>SOLUTION: A tracking control apparatus (120) implements tracking control that is a control to allow a preceding vehicle (20) that is a vehicle traveling ahead of a present vehicle (10), to track the present vehicle.
