<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving assistance system, for performing driving assistance according to a lane change probability with improved accuracy of the lane change probability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A lane change probability is calculated based on a first learnt value showing drive characteristics related to a driver's accelerating/decelerating operation. The lane change probability is corrected based on a second learnt value showing drive characteristics related to the driver's steering operation and own vehicle peripheral environment and/or driver information. According to it, determination of lane change probability is accurately performed, and the accuracy in discrimination between a lane change by the driver's intention and a lane deviation independent from the driver's intention is improved. The device includes a driving assistance means which controls driving assistance according to the lane change probability, and suitably executes driving assistance according to the lane change probability corrected and improved in accuracy.
