PURPOSE: A positive electrode active material is provided to have high capacity and excellent lifetime by including a composite dimensional manganese oxide and a transition metal with high irreversible capacity. CONSTITUTION: A positive electrode active material comprises a lithium manganese oxide(a first transition metal oxide) indicated in chemical formula 1: xMnO2·(1-x)Li2MnO3(in here, 0<x<1); and a lithium manganese oxide(a second transition metal oxide) which has the difference of a charging capacity and discharging capacity of 200 mAh/g or more. The comprised amount of the second transition metal oxide is 5-50 parts by weight based on 100.0 parts by weight of the positive electrode active material. A lithium secondary battery comprises a positive electrode containing the positive electrode active material. |
