[Problem] To provide an organic electroluminescence element having a high refractive index and having excellent thin film stability and durability, and comprising a capping layer configured from a material that does not have absorption in the blue, green, or red wavelength ranges, in order to improve the element characteristics of the organic electroluminescence element, and particularly to greatly improve light extraction efficiency. [Solution] An organic EL element having at least an anode electrode, a hole transport layer, a light-emission layer, an electron transport layer, a cathode electrode, and a capping layer, in that order, wherein the capping layer includes an aryle amine compound (X) having a structure whereby two triphenylamine structures are linked in each molecule by single bonds or by bivalent groups not containing a hetero atom.
