A method includes - receiving (1405) an object model having a plurality of elements (1202, 1204), the elements corresponding to a plurality of points; - receiving (1410) a selection of a first element (1202) and a second element (1204) of the plurality of elements and receiving a tolerance(1206); - analyzing an intersection between the first element (1202) and the second element (1204) based on the tolerance (1206); - classifying (1425) the intersection between the first element (1202) and the second element (1204) based on the analysis - storing (1430) the classification. This method ensures a consistent and clear classification for curve-curve intersections even in cases, where there is no real intersection.
