<p>Provided is a planar light-emitting body wherein light-emitting panels having organic electroluminescent devices provided thereon are joined to each other in a plane, such that inconsistencies in brightness caused by a non-light-emitting region at the joining section are prevented and uniformity of brightness within the plane is improved. The planar light-emitting body is provided with: a plurality of light-emitting panels, each having an organic electroluminescent device provided on one principal surface of a transparent substrate in a state in which light emitted is extracted from the transparent substrate side, said plurality of light-emitting panels having the surfaces on which the organic electroluminescent devices are formed be planarly arranged in the same direction; a light transmissive adhesive agent having a similar refractive index as the transparent substrate and being provided between the transparent substrates so as to bond the planarly arranged light-emitting panels together; and a light-extraction member provided on the other principal surfaces of the transparent substrates between respective organic electroluminescent devices of the plurality of bonded light-emitting panels, said other principal surfaces being the light-extraction surfaces of the transparent substrates.</p> |
