PURPOSE: A catalyst for treating organic waste and a method for treating the organic waste using the same are provided to completely liquefy the organic waste in a short period of time by mixing a porous carrier with the catalyst and solid organic waste and heating the mixture. CONSTITUTION: A catalyst for treating organic waste includes 30-40 wt% of Fe, 10-20 wt% of Si, 10-20 wt% of Al, and 5-10 wt% of K with respect to sol phased solid organic waste. The catalyst decomposes the organic waste into liquid phased products. The catalyst is fixed to a porous carrier. The specific surface area of the porous carrier is in a range between 100 and 300 m^2/g. The porous carrier is activated charcoal. The weight ratio of the porous carrier and the catalyst is 1:1 to 3:1. |
