<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Stirling engine which operates with high energy efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The Stirling engine includes a displacer cylinder 11, a displacer piston 12 formed of a heat insulating material, a heat insulating member 16, a gas transporting path 13, a power piston cylinder, and a power piston. The displacer piston 12 reciprocally moves and partitions the inside of the displacer cylinder 11 into a high temperature space and a low temperature space. The heat insulating member configures a part of a wall of the displacer cylinder within a stroke of the displacer piston, and thermally insulates a wall of the high temperature space and a wall of the low temperature space. The gas transporting path makes the high temperature space communicate with the low temperature space via a heating part, a regenerator, and a cooling part in this order from the high temperature space side. A power piston cylinder communicates with the low temperature space via a communicating path 17. The power piston operates simultaneously with the displacer piston so as to move reciprocally in the power piston cylinder while being retarded by a predetermined phase. The heat insulating member 16 prevents the heat from flowing from the high temperature space to the low temperature space. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
