<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an appropriate output signal even when the amplitude of noise superimposed on an input signal cannot be estimated beforehand. <P>SOLUTION: A hysteresis comparator includes: a binarization section 2 for binarizing an input signal on the basis of thresholds TH1, TH2 while changing a hysteresis width W=TH1-TH2; a run length measurement section 4 for measuring run lengths of the binary signal for each signal sequence of binary signal for the same hysteresis width W; a determination coefficient calculation section 5 for logarithmically transforming frequencies on a run length frequency distribution resulting from the measurements by the run length measurement section 4 for each signal sequence of binary signal for the same hysteresis width W, and calculating a determination coefficient from linear function approximation of the logarithmically transformed run length frequency distribution by the method of least squares for each signal sequence of binary signal for the same hysteresis width W; and a control section 6 for outputting the binary signal for a hysteresis width W causing a minimum determination coefficient as an optimum binary result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
