Observations can be made while the exact observation location of a subject is ascertained without a region of interest being overlooked while the burden on the observer is also reduced. Provided is a fluorescent observation device (1) comprising: illumination units (3, 4) for irradiating a subject (A) with excitation light and illumination light; a fluorescence imaging unit (21) for acquiring a fluorescent image (G2) from fluorescent light generated in the subject (A) due to the irradiation with excitation light; a return light imaging unit (20) for acquiring a return light image (G1) from return light returning from the subject (A) due to the irradiation with illumination light; a display unit (7) for displaying the acquired fluorescent image (G2) and/or the return light image (G1); an extraction unit for extracting a region of interest (R) from the fluorescent image; and an image switching unit (25) for performing switching so that only the return light image (G1) is displayed on the display unit (7) when the region of interest (R) has not been extracted, and that the return light image (G1) and fluorescent image (G2) are juxtaposed for display on the display unit (7) when the region of interest (R) has been extracted. |
