The flange (1) has an elastic seal (4) continuously positioned on an entire circumference of a nested thickness portion (6) of the flange. The seal is in contact with an inner face of a U- or L-shaped sectioned main body of a roller shutter box or case and clamped between the circumference of the nested portion of the flange and the inner face. The seal is formed by an elastic ring having a perimeter slightly smaller than that of the circumference of the flange in absence of tension. The seal is fixed on the nested portion of the flange by an adhesive element or agent. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a flange with a roller shutter box or case body.
