METHOD FOR PRODUCING HYDROCARBON FUEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a hydrocarbon fuel of high quality that can be produced from an aliphatic compound produced by an algae with commercial stability.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the hydrocarbon fuel comprises a first step of recovering a part of the aliphatic compound soluble in a hydrocarbon solvent after maintaining a mixture, that contains an aliphatic compound produced by an algae and a hydrocarbon solvent whose critical temperature in the supercritical state is 90°C or higher, after adjusting temperature and pressure of the mixture so that the solubility of the aliphatic compound in the hydrocarbon solvent becomes 15 g or less per 100 g hydrocarbon solvent, and a second step of performing hydrogenation treatment using a catalyst for the soluble part recovered in the first step.
